Some of my novice photography work from my friends wedding back in 2011. Even though I had no intention of charging they insisted on paying me making it my first paid photography gig.

ABIGAIL ~ The Fathers Joy
The other morning I made the decision to start back reading and studying the Word so that I can find the much needed balance in my life that was missing. I have a new challenge for myself and I pray that I can stick to it. Its a 140 Day reading challenge and its the end goal that I am most excited about. (More on that later)
My reading began in I Samuel 25:2-44 about a woman named Abigail who was married to a very wealthy man named Nabal. At the end of the passage it took me a minute to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to me and show me what lesson God had for me in this passage. To make a long story short Abigail’s husband when asked for a favor from David’s men in return for protecting his servants Nabal rejected their request. He upset David and unknowingly marked himself and those close to him to be slaughtered. Being warned by her servants Abigail sent all that David had asked for and more and went out to meet David and ask him for his forgiveness for the acts of her husband. Her husband had no clue what happened and the fact that his wife’s actions had saved his life.
You may not know it and you may not believe it but there are people that intercede for you without you knowing. She knew her husband was a fool not only in action but his name literally means fool. However, she still chose to save him from actions he brought on himself. She did what she did not for any bragging rights but as an expression of her love for him.
As a wife and a woman the actions of Abigail reminds me of my responsibility to cover my husband in prayer and with my actions. So many times I hear stories from men and woman of how they have been setup for failure or how they have sabotaged their own relationships.  If you love your husband
if you love your partner keep in mind everything you do is for the benefit of the relationship. Pray for your spouse and when you are out in public and in private represent yourself in a manner that shows the love and respect your have for him and your marriage.

My #office / #sewingroom / #craftroom can use a little too right now but I’m too busy doing nothing watching TV and staring out the window. #lazysaturday… Do you ever finish it completely? Maybe when my kids are grown lol…

Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPtakebackflash

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes & hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.

For many mobile photographers, using the phone’s flash has been a longtime taboo, but the goal this weekend is to do just that. Break out of the box and take creative photos using flash! Some tips to get you started:

  • The closer you are to your subject, the more washed-out your photo will be. Experiment with using your flash from varying distances for different effects.
  • It doesn’t need to be nighttime to use your flash. Try shooting with your flash during the day to fill in shadows from sunlight.
  • Watch out for reflective surfaces like metal and glass. The reflected flash can create a distracting burst of light in your photos.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the #WHPtakebackflash hashtag to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!
